Mill Powder Tech Solutions
Leading Brand in Powder Technology
Optimistically Embraces AI Era and ESG Opportunities
MPT started as a grinder manufacturer.
Through generational transitions and continuous innovation,
MPT has actively embraced digital transformation, AI, and ESG trends.
At the same time, MPT is committed to cross-industry collaboration and
the development of diverse application fields,
driving its leadership in the powder processing equipment industry.
Mill Powder Tech Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MPT"), originally known as the “Dinosaur Brand” grinder by Guang Li Cheng, has grown over several generations to become a global leader in powder technology. From its beginnings in grinder, MPT expanded into mixers, system design, and turnkey solutions, extending its reach from the feed industry to the food industry and even into Bio-Tech, health supplements, and plastic chemical industries. In the future, it plans to enter the electronic materials grinding market. How did MPT achieve global success? And how will it face the challenges posed by the AI era and ESG impacts?
MPT is the First Choice for Powder Solutions Needs
The English name " Ling Guang Industry" was conceived by the former chairman, Gao Yanji. At the time, many Taiwanese companies used direct phonetic translations of their Chinese names as their English company names. Ultimately, Gao Yanji decided to name the company "MILL POWDER TECH SOLUTIONS," reflecting the company's focus on grinding powder and providing technical solutions. This name conveyed that MPT is a professional powder grinding company, and also carried the expectation that whenever customers had powder-related needs, MPT would be their first thought.
From a Small Factory in Taiwan to a Global
It all began when an agent recognized the quality of MPT’s machines, personally visiting and exporting them to Hong Kong, marking the start of MPT’s export journey. MPT’s machine quality was highly praised in the market, leading to its customer base expanding from Hong Kong, China, and Southeast Asia to Europe and the Americas. Today, MPT’s customers span over 70 countries worldwide. To meet international standards and respond to market demands, MPT purchased a large plot of land in Yongkang, built a new headquarters, expanded production lines, and established design and R&D departments to support its export needs.
After venturing out of Taiwan, MPT realized that selling single machines was not enough to satisfy customers, who increasingly expected more comprehensive technical advice or turnkey system planning. To better serve customers, MPT fully committed to research and development, transforming from a single-machine supplier to one offering complete plant design and planning services, using their accumulated experience to provide end-to-end services. Prioritizing customer needs and experiences is the key to MPT’s sustained brand success.

Challenges and Overcoming Generational Handover
General Manager Tony Ling is the third-generation leader of MPT. Tony Ling humorously refers to the company’s transition as a family split history: “In my great-grandfather's time, it was like cutting a cake, splitting the factory in half.” The hardships of this process are hard to describe in a few words. Tony Ling , who majored in mass communication with a minor in film, did not immediately return to the company after graduation but worked in the film and video industry in Taipei. In 2008, as the new Yongkang plant was completed, he was called back by his parents to prepare for succession. That year marked a turning point for both MPT and Tony Ling’s life, bringing significant challenges.
At that time, MPT faced urgent reforms. The move from the old plant to the new one required many new systems to be established, and the expansion of the export market necessitated a reorganization of existing business models. However, the previous generation was not ready to let go, and senior company members were also scrutinizing the successor, putting immense pressure on Tony Ling. The reforms he proposed faced resistance from both his parents and internal skepticism, making it difficult to implement new strategies. Despite setbacks, his interest in relationship management and communication kept him going. He saw taking over the company as a test and demonstration of willpower, bravely facing challenges to create a new chapter for MPT. However, Tony Ling also pointed out that succession is not just the responsibility of the next generation; the previous generation must also focus on talent cultivation and strategic planning to reduce conflicts between the old and new generations and avoid operational crises.

Reorganizing the Company and Introducing Marketing Concepts
With a background in mass communication, Tony Ling understands the importance of marketing. He changed MPT’s existing business model by introducing marketing concepts. Previously, MPT used a mentor-apprentice model, where senior sales staff paired with newcomers to jointly develop the global market, prioritizing customers based on order volume. Tony Ling further segmented the global market by region, such as Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, assigning individual teams to different regions and enhancing staff awareness of market trends and the use of marketing tools.
Online, MPT actively invested in digital marketing, establishing a comprehensive website, carefully producing product explanation videos, and allocating budgets for digital advertising by regional sales managers. Offline, MPT regularly participated in domestic and international exhibitions and arranged overseas visits to expand new customer bases and understand overseas market conditions. Through a combination of online and offline strategies, MPT successfully expanded its export market.
Embracing Digital Transformation Amid Pandemic Impact
Initially, the pandemic had not shown its impact, but by 2021, MPT began to feel the pressure as customers stopped placing orders. Internal personnel and operational cost losses alone amounted to tens of millions, and export orders dropped by 46%, a significant blow to MPT, whose exports account for 70% of total sales. During this tough period, while the industry was reeling, with layoffs and unpaid leave widespread, Tony Ling took a different approach. Instead of layoffs or unpaid leave, he even gave employees a raise to maintain morale. He understood that leadership decisions would impact the company's next five years. The machinery industry is highly technical, and MPT’s employees are valued talents nurtured by the company. At a time when they needed support, the company could not retreat; it needed to be strong backing for its employees. As industries rebounded after the pandemic, MPT’s employees were fully cooperative with company policies and met performance targets.
In addition to supporting employees and maintaining morale during the pandemic, Tony Ling actively planned for post-pandemic recovery. He observed that China’s overcapacity began to dump machinery, and regional business models and partnerships were changing, with the single-machine market being fragmented and intense price competition. These factors solidified his determination not to fall into a price war market. Moving away from the traditional model of participating in exhibitions, exchanging business cards with customers, and waiting for customer responses, he decided to shift the business to a proactive approach by further embracing digital transformation. In addition to strengthening existing marketing tools, Tony Ling also planned to introduce an AI customer service system and establish a complete blueprint database. He hopes that in the future, customers can quickly and easily obtain real-time blueprints on the website, reducing communication barriers and improving business quotation efficiency.

Image 4: With its keen business acumen, MPT is actively investing in the development of high-value material grinding and milling technology.
Opportunities in the AI Era and ESG Issues
Regarding AI development, Tony Ling is optimistic and supportive. Before the pandemic, MPT had already started building its blueprint database. In traditional industries, technology and blueprints are often stored in the minds of old bosses and employees, and if someone suddenly leaves or an accident occurs, that knowledge could be lost. To prevent this, Tony Ling instructed employees to establish a complete company database. The pandemic confirmed that this was the right path. He has already outlined a future plan to establish an AI customer service and blueprint system for external use, while internally developing a modular blueprint system to assist the design department.
In terms of ESG issues, although there are many aspects that still require careful evaluation, Tony Ling also sees this as an opportunity. Collaborating with the R&D department, MPT is fully committed to developing low-energy, low-carbon emission machines that meet customer needs. With his keen business sense, he also noticed the business opportunities in the high-value-added recycling market, investing in the research and development of crushers and screening machines that can be used for PCB boards, lithium batteries, and other electronic components. While there are many single-machine competitors, there are few professional powder machine suppliers like MPT that offer such comprehensive and complete plant design solutions. Tony Ling proudly states that in the future, they will leverage 84 years of accumulated industry experience to export technology and machines through cross-industry collaboration, developing diverse application fields for MPT’s machines and creating new profit spaces, aiming for more performance on the global stage.
The secret to MPT's continued brand development lies in its business approach, which prioritizes customer needs and experiences above all else.
